IRI-JI (New Yam) Festival 2026

Presented by the Ndi Igbo Cultural Association of Nova Scotia (NICANS), the annual IRI-JI (New Yam) Festival is a celebration of Igbo harvest traditions and West African heritage. Now in its seventh year, this family-friendly outdoor event features vibrant performances, cultural activities and a welcoming community atmosphere for all ages.

Proudly celebrating culture, heritage, and community in Nova Scotia alongside the peoples and traditions represented by Mi’kmaq Nation, Black Nova Scotian heritage, and Nigeria, join NdiGbo Na Nova Scotia for an unforgettable celebration of the **IRI-JI New Yam Festival 2026** — a vibrant cultural experience filled with traditional music & dance, cultural pageantry, delicious Igbo cuisine & roasted yam, live entertainment, family fun & community connection, and more!
