The Acoustic Roots festival showcases some of Atlantic Canada’s most popular folk, country, Celtic, bluegrass, and blues artists.
The Two Rivers Wildlife Park where the festival is held is a 500 acre site offering a variety of activities for festival goers including campgrounds with serviced sites, showers, laundry facilities, walking trails, petting zoo, canteens, swimming, Wifi, shuttle service around park, and observatory.
The festival attracts music fans from surrounding communities, as well as nationally and international tourists. With the numerous activities available at the park for all ages, the festival is a wonderful event for families with young children. Workshops are also provided at the event.
The festival venue, Two Rivers Wildlife Park, is a 500-acre community-run park located where the Salmon River meets the Mira River. The unique geography is such that the two rivers together form natural boundaries that surround most of the park.
The land is fertile and the hills are gentle thus an abundance of natural wildlife and plant species adds to the natural beauty of the two rivers. The land that the Park occupies is of great historical significance as part of the old French Road passed through the property from the Fortress of Louisbourg to other parts of Cape Breton. Stone markers can still be seen in the area dating back to those early days.
