Warm days, crisp nights, and vibrant fall colours, makes Fall the perfect time to explore the outdoors. Hike the Gypsum Mine & Quarry Trail an easy 2.6km trail with highland views and a sparkling lake at the end.
The Acadian cultural landscape extends into Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Explore former cart paths on Le Chemin du Buttereau Trail (4.6km) to see remnants of settler homesteads before connecting onto Le Buttereau (1.6km) for dramatic views of the ocean, Chéticamp River, Petit Étang Beach, and surrounding highlands.
