Overview

Experience the BLT Trail, part of the 119 km Rum Runners Trail that stretches from Halifax to Lunenburg, a 13-km multi-use trailway on converted railbed with a hard-packed surface that weaves past a number of lakes and rivers. Short for Beechville-Lakeside-Timberlea, the BLT Trail connects the communities of Beechville, Lakeside, Timberlea, Hubley, and Lewis Lake where it connects with the St. Margaret’s Bay Trail section. BLT Trail users can enjoy a picnic lunch and views from picnic tables and benches located at rest stops along the way.

Accessible at several trailheads near Hwy 3 between Beechville and Lewis Lake, the BLT Trail is a popular multi-modal trail used by walkers, hikers, and cyclists as well as those travelling by motorized all-terrain vehicles including ATVs, UTVs, Side-by-Sides, and/or snowmobiles.

Follow us on Facebook and visit the BLT Trail website for events and news about the trail.
