Timber & Tides: Maitland Heritage Tour

Step back-in-time to the Village of Maitland, a coastal community that helped shape the Maritime heritage of Nova Scotia. Explore a once-thriving ship building industry, Canada’s oldest general store, and beautifully preserved 19^th century architecture on a two-hour guided walking tour near the scenic shores of the Bay of Fundy.

Experience Highlights:

• Walk through history on a two-hour guided tour in the village of Maitland, the first Heritage Conservation District in Nova Scotia.
• Hear local insights from your knowledgeable guide Denise. Get to know the village of Maitland from a true local with deep connections to this place.
• Explore shipbuilding heritage and 19^th-century architecture in the historic Bay of Fundy community.
• Stop at Canada’s oldest general store, Frieze & Roy established in 1839.

Dates: Offered daily, June 1 through October 4, subject to availability.

Price: Includes tax

• $25 per adult
• $20 per senior (70+) and student (under 18)

Be sure to provide the number of tour guests in your party, your preferred tour date, and the name of the tour you’d like to book. Denise will get in touch to confirm your booking within 48-hours of your inquiry.

Good to Know:

• ShoreGirl Adventures recommends wearing sturdy as well as dressing in layers as it can be cooler on the coast than in-land. A water bottle, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, and camera are also recommended!
• Parking and tour starting point is at the High Tides Arts & Community Centre: 11 Church Hill, Maitland. Bathrooms are available inside the community centre and at some tour stops along the way.
• Payment is taken via Cash or EMT and a waiver signed at the beginning of your tour.

Conditions & Cancellations:  ShoreGirl Adventures is a small business and email booking requests are preferred, as Denise may be guiding a tour and unable to answer you at the time of your call. 24-hours notice is appreciated if you must cancel your tour.
