Connect with the world of edible and medicinal plants in the Annapolis Valley. Engage your senses and uncover insights about herbal uses during this guided, hands-on experience with Benna, a 5th generation Nova Scotian, registered Herbalist and Biologist.
Experience Highlights:
- Enjoy freshly foraged tea with local stories: feel grounded by the aroma and flavour of local plants while your host shares stories of the area.
- Walk through beautiful gardens and woodlands: move through your senses at Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens or the vineyard gardens along the Gaspereau River at Benjamin Bridge Vineyards, meeting plants and learning about some of their medicinal uses.
- Learn about wild harvesting protocols and the practice of honorable harvest.
- Learn about herbal medicine directly from the plants with guided sensory exploration
- Create an oxymel to take home with you: An age-old preparation of sweet and tart herbal ingredients is made with local honey and apple cider vinegar.
- 5% from every registration fee will be donated to Save Our Old Forests (SOOF)
- ** Experiences at Benjamin Bridge Vineyards: Enjoy a sample of local flavours with a charcuterie board curated by Benjamin Bridge shared with the group.
- Feel free to add-on wine and non-alcoholic options (at participants cost) while crafting your oxymel.
Remaining 2025 Dates: Experience start times vary with selected dates. Please see the booking calendar for more information. Remaining 2025 experiences are 3.5 hours in length and take place at Benjamin Bridge Vineyards.
