The Big House is a 6 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom vacation home rental located in the heart of the village just steps from the Baddeck tourist bureau, along with a convenience store, grocery store, and restaurants and shops along the main street and nearby Baddeck waterfront on the beautiful Bras d’Or Lake.
Take a boat tour on our beautiful inland sea, the Bras d’or Lake, which is recognized as a UNESCO biosphere and be sure to visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site to discover the many inventions beyond the telephone of our most famous Baddeck resident. Our location is the ideal spot to base your stay in the charming village of Baddeck and sightseeing travels throughout Cape Breton Island. Baddeck is known as the start and stop of the famous Cabot Trail drive through the Cape Breton Highlands National Park.
The space
Originally built over 100 years ago, this historic home has been updated and kept in excellent condition, while maintaining its character of generations past. At approximately 2,500 sq. feet and ten foot ceilings throughout, you will quickly see why this home is referred to as ‘The Big House’. With six bedrooms two and half bathrooms, it can comfortably accommodate three couples, families and/or small groups that simply want increased value and space at comparable prices to other hotels and properties.
The Big House heat pumps installed on main level and top level for full air conditioning throughout during the warm and humid summer months and even, comfortable heat during the cooler months.
The fully equipped kitchen and bonus pantry space comes complete with a stove, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, and cookware. TV, Wi-Fi internet, BBQ on the backyard deck, laundry room with washer and dryer, and a workspace are also provided in the house.
Both full bathrooms with bathtub showers are located in the top level of the home and will require the use of stairs to access.
