Fossil Farms is a oceanside retreat nestled within a spectacular farm and vineyard, located just minutes outside of New Glasgow, on the edge of the Northumberland Strait on Merigomish Harbour.
You’ll find all of the comforts of home tucked into our 11 accommodations ranging from bachelor, one-bedroom and two bedroom cottages and guest suites. All of our accommodations feature full kitchens and bath, decks and views of the farm and ocean.
Our new post and beam event barn, serves as our ‘main lodge’ here at Fossil Farms. It is where you’ll check-in, but you’ll want to check out everything available from here. Featuring onsite kitchen, recreation centre and boardroom, it’s also where you’ll find our games library, astronomy kits, outdoor kitchen/patio area and more. It’s perfect, and purposefully built, for community events and private functions.
Sprawling out over acres of rolling vineyard, gardens and orchards, we’re an oasis for outdoor enthusiasts! The Farm has a ton of amenities including an outdoor pool and wood-fired sauna. Enjoy ocean swimming or paddles in our kayaks. Explore the trails on foot – or on our fat bikes. We often host a weekend Yoga class too! Perched throughout the property, you’ll find our outdoor kitchen, craft lodge, hilltop studio and patio, outdoor fireplaces and bonfire pits, hammock corner, various decks, patios, and many quaint hideaways!
Choose to indulge in it all – or tuck yourself away and simply relax.
You’re always welcome to try your hand at the Farm too. Hang out with the chickens, observe bees in action, check in on our various crops, search for fossils along the shoreline. If the season is right harvest and thrash your own wheat and make fresh pasta or press your own cider.

Due to the nature of the property, Fossil Farms is ideal for those at least 19 years of age. We welcome pets of up to 20lbs however they must be kept on leash.
