Crescent Beach – Lockeport The Google rating is 4.7

One of Nova Scotia’s most iconic and picturesque beaches, Crescent Beach is located in Lockeport on the South Shore of Shelburne County. It gained fame when it appeared on the 1954 $50 Canadian bill.

Stretching over a kilometer, the soft white sand and turquoise waters make it perfect for beachcombing, swimming, and relaxing. During the summer, the beach is home to piping plovers, a small and endangered shorebird species that nests along the sand.

There are three public access points to Crescent Beach in Lockeport. An accessible ramp is located at the Visitor Beach Centre, a steeper ramp is at the opposite end, and stair access is available midway.

At one end of the beach, you’ll find the Crescent Beach Centre — a visitor hub offering washrooms, showers, change rooms, free Wi-Fi, and interpretive displays about the town’s heritage and marine life. For enhanced access, especially for guests with mobility needs, there’s a fully accessible beach entrance and a beach-mobility wheelchair available upon request.
