The Bay of Fundy Inn & Guesthouse is a restored Victorian house, circa 1830, overlooking Grand Passage on Brier Island, in the Bay of Fundy & Annapolis Valley region. Brier Island is the gateway to the Bay of Fundy and the island is situated out in the Bay. The island, the most westernmost location in the province, is a haven for birders, sailors, whale watching enthusiasts and nature lovers from across North America. Brier Island is just two scenic ferry rides from Digby Neck in southwestern Nova Scotia. Visitors must cross on two car ferries to the island – the crossings are mere minutes and are a great part of the adventure to get to Brier Island.

Only 7.5 kilometres long and 2.5 kilometres wide, Brier Island and the waters of the Bay of Fundy that surround it are among the most important ecological regions in Eastern Canada. In the early spring and fall the island is an important stopover destination for migrating birds, and the often rare species that rest here attract birders from as far away as Europe and Asia. The protected bog habitat on the island is a source of rare plant species including Eastern Mountain Avens and several species of rare orchids. Hiking enthusiasts will love the trails that follow the rugged coastline and jagged cliffs, a spectacular reminder of the power of the Bay of Fundy tides, the highest in the world.
We are a short trip away from the monument memorial to Joshua Slocum, the Brier Island man who was the first to sail alone around the world in 1898. View the famous Balancing Rock, vertical column of basalt, balanced on its tip, the most-photographed of Long Island’s striking basalt formations.
Our accommodations include four rooms (Twin, Double and Queen-sized beds) with shared 3-piece baths. A complimentary continental breakfast is served. There are numerous pieces of antique furniture throughout the house and each bedroom is tastefully decorated. There is plenty of room for parking at the rear of the building.
