The Baker’s Chest Bed & Breakfast is located just outside downtown Truro, the hub of Nova Scotia, in the Bay of Fundy & Annapolis Valley region. It is a delightful home where you will find plenty of hospitality, fun and great food. We are open year-round and we are also on a direct route from the airport.
Our bed and breakfast is centrally situated, making it an ideal home base from which to explore the rest of the province. In Truro you will find Victoria Park, a 1000-acre wooded park offering hours of enjoyment to nature lovers. For those who seek more action, a short drive will bring you to the Tidal Bore, which is home to the world’s highest tides. Experience the awesome force of the Bay of Fundy tides in the rapids of the Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia’s largest river. There are also golf courses in the area for the golf enthusiast, and in the wintertime the Wentworth ski area is just a 30-minute drive away. Victoria Park is a natural woodland park in the centre of town. Lepper Brook, with its two sets of waterfalls, flows through a steep tree-covered rocky gorge. Several walking trails follow along the brook, allowing a close view of this unique setting.
Our accommodations include four spacious air-conditioned rooms (one room with king-sized bed, two rooms with queen-sized bed, one room with twin beds; two rooms also have a sofa-bed) with ensuite 3-piece (shower) and 4-piece baths. All rooms have digital HD cable television, a hairdryer and free Wi-Fi. A full gourmet breakfast is served from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Seating shaded by beautiful mature trees, which abound on the lush lawns, is accompanied by a deck situated so that guests may enjoy charming perennial flowers, with shrubs for added privacy. Curl up and relax in the sunroom with a book from our library. Relax at the end of the day in our outdoor swimming pool on a warm day.
