Since 2017, Smile Sushi has been a proudly family-owned and operated restaurant. Located in the heart of downtown Amherst, authentic Korean and Japanese cuisine is crafted with tradition, care, and the freshest ingredients. Led by Chef and Owner Keum Hee Kang, who is formally trained in traditional Korean cooking methods, the restaurant is a true family affair alongside her husband Charles, son David, and daughter Daisy.

Every dish is prepared fresh daily using quality ingredients and cherished family recipes passed down through generations. Guests return time and again for signature sushi rolls, including the smoked salmon and fried shrimp rolls, comforting bowls of ramen, and the restaurant’s beloved bibimbap, topped with a homemade sauce created from a secret family recipe. Even the kimchi is handcrafted in-house, delivering authentic flavour with every bite.
