Overview

Mercator Vineyards is distinctive for its authentic heritage and welcoming in its relaxed and simple focus on old world–style wines. Located just east of the town of Wolfville and adjacent to the Grand-Pré National Historic site, the vineyards are situated on a bluff overlooking the historic Acadian dykelands at the point where the Cornwallis River enters the tidal bay of the Minas Basin.

Named for the pioneering cartographer whose groundbreaking world map was the gold standard in the age of exploration, the winery celebrates the first agrarian settlement in the area. We are devoted entirely to growing exceptional grapes and making extraordinary limited-edition wines that express our terroir’s deep earth, nourishing water, coastal breezes and warm valley sunshine. Mercator wines challenge our perceptions of “local” wine by taking us into a world of premium, estate-select and cellared wines that aspire to be among the best the world has to offer.

The Mercator experience is one of sharing wine and local artisan food in a peaceful, intimate setting with breathtaking views. We offer bicycle and picnic basket rentals so our guests can explore our region and take advantage of our location along the Harvest Moon Trailway.  We encourage visitors to immerse themselves in the timeless tranquility and warmth of our region while enjoying some of Nova Scotia’s finest, award-winning wines.
