Located in Baddeck Harbour within the beautiful Bras d’Or Lake just off the shore of the village of Baddeck lies Kidston Island which is home to walking trails, a working lighthouse and a popular sandy beach that everyone can enjoy thanks to a local summertime ferry service.

For 75 years, the Baddeck Lions Club has provided a free ferry service in July and August to/from Kidston Island from the Baddeck Waterfront, ensuring that everyone can visit the island to swim at the lifeguarded beach next to the Kidston Island Lighthouse as well as to walk the 2.3 km of trails that offer an easy stroll with plenty of spots to sightsee, birdwatch and to enjoy a picnic.

Ferry service is free; donations welcome.
