Overview

Start your journey in Halifax on Joseph Howe Drive, across from the Atlantic Superstore, and wind your way out of the city through Bayers Lake Business Park and past several lakes to the Beechville Business Park. This trail is popular for walking, running, and cycling and has gravel and paved sections.

Of the 119 km (74 miles) long Rum Runners Trail, this 7 km trail section is the only section that does not permit all-terrain vehicles, such as ATVs, UTS, Side-by-Sides, and snowmobiles, to use the trail. Trail sections spanning from the Beechville Business Park along the BLT Trail to the town of Lunenburg is open to walkers, hikers, cyclists, horseback riders, and motorized all-terrain vehicles.
