Discover the Antigonish Victorian Inn, a magnificent Victorian mansion set on 5 beautiful acres in downtown Antigonish near St. FX University, offering cozy bed & breakfast accommodations. The stately home’s former residents included a wealthy businessman, a Parliamentarian, and several Roman Catholic bishops along with it being used for a time as part of the local hospital.

Our accommodations include:

  • 9 air conditioned guestrooms located on the first, second and third floors, each with private or ensuite bathrooms; some with private entrances
  • two ground level, one-bedroom apartments with ensuite bathrooms and private entrances
  • The Innkeeper, a two-bedroom apartment with an ensuite bathroom and private deck
  • The Garden Suite, a one-bedroom cottage with a wet bar, ensuite bathroom and private deck that overlooks the wooded backyard

Guest amenities include flat screen TV, phone, wireless Internet. Some units have kitchenettes.

  • Cape George Hiking Trails, a series of connected loops, varying in length and difficulty (total 33 km/20 mi), from the coast through meadows and old-growth forests to cliffs affording spectacular views of the bay, with elevations up to 183 meters (600 ft.). The trail offers panoramic views at various points, including Ballantyne’s Cove. Don’t miss the scenic area of Cape George Point that includes 3 trailheads at the Cape George Lighthouse.
  • Charter a deep sea fishing trip to try to catch Giant Bluefin Tuna. From June to October, schools of Giant Bluefin Tuna are lured to Nova Scotia by temperate waters along the Northumberland Shore.
