Amherst Shore Country Inn
Overview
The Amherst Shore Country Inn is a boutique seaside property in Lorneville, a popular cottage community near the town of Amherst on Nova Scotia’s Northumberland Shore. Boasting outstanding ocean views and over 20 acres of lawn, gardens and meadows to explore, all leading to the shoreline. The property has about 1,000 feet of ocean frontage complete with a red sand beach and gazebo. In the summer and fall, tour our extensive on-site vegetable gardens, which supply much of the herbs and produce used in our seasonally inspired menu in our on-site restaurant.
Open year round, our accommodations include:
- four chalets (two night minimum stay)
- two suites
- two guestrooms
Each accommodation, with panoramic views over the Northumberland Strait, includes amenities such as:

Dining at Amherst Shore Country Inn
Since 1980, the Laceby family has been serving up regionally inspired cuisine at the Amherst Shore Country Inn. Dinners are three course, prix fixe offerings, with everything made and baked in-house. The menu changes often, often daily, to reflect what’s in season. Experience a meal from our dining room as your overlook the Northumberland Strait.
Book early, as dining is only available by advance reservation, and is limited to one sitting at 7:30 pm, Thursday through Sunday. Craft beer, locally inspired cocktails, and Nova Scotia wines are available beginning at 6:30 pm.
