Come and join us at Tangled Garden where herbs and fruits are transformed into jewel-like jellies and flavourful liquors, making them the perfect accompaniment to enhance simple fare or gourmet meals.
Beverly McClare’s sure touch unifies a garden remarkable for its variety. Twenty-five years in the making, the gardens now cover four acres of sloping land and feature classic garden rooms hedged in box, while yew and beech encounter a dry stream bed planted with statuesque grasses and rambunctious perennials. A rusting metal sphere nests in a bed of little bluestem and extensive earthworks have sculpted the land into tiers and berms, creating enclosures and surprises.
From the highest point, take a meditative walk in our wildflower labyrinth – approximately 80 feet in diameter – and enjoy the sweeping views over the Minas Basin and historic Acadian dykeland.
We are located in Grand Pré in the Bay of Fundy & Annapolis Valley region near the town of Wolfville. Peek in the kitchen where savoury herb jellies are made, or enjoy a lavender or rose petal ice cream while you stroll through our three-acre herb and sculpture garden.
Visit our gift shop where you will find our fine selection of gourmet hand-crafted liquors and cordials as well as jelly, jam, chutney, mustard, vinegar and honey.
Special events, such as our Plein-Air Picnics and Tangled Tours, are held throughout the season. Tangled Garden is also a spectacular venue for hosting small, intimate weddings, engagements, elopements, and vow renewals in Nova Scotia.
Admission: General admission to enjoy Tangled Garden on a self-guided tour is $10 (children 15 and under are free). Season passes allowing unlimited garden visits are $26.
