Christmas in the Barn

Christmas in the Barn is a festive artisan market held in my pottery studio, an historic 1783 barn overlooking the harbour in Shelburne, Nova Scotia. Twice a year, the barn transforms into a gathering space for the community, welcoming visitors to explore the work of over 20 local artisans and makers.

The holiday market features handmade pottery, fine art, textiles, woodworking, gourmet treats, and more – all created here in Nova Scotia. Twinkling lights, live greenery, and the rustic charm of the old barn create a cozy, nostalgic atmosphere that captures the spirit of the season.

It’s more than a market, it’s a celebration of local craftsmanship and community. Visitors often stay to chat with the makers, enjoy a warm drink, and take in the history and character of the barn itself.

Many shops and restaurants will be open in town that day as well as the museums so there will be plenty to do once you are done at Christmas in the barn. Come and plan to make a day of it, or better yet plan a girls weekend and stay in one of Shelburne’s historic inns.
