Embark on an unforgettable voyage from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Sable Island National Park Reserve (Sable Island NPR) with Sable Ocean Adventures.

Sail on a 47-foot sailboat to Sable Island National Park Reserve where you’ll see wild horses, grey seals, historic shipwrecks, and breathtaking ocean vistas. Captained and crewed by highly trained mariners, Sable Ocean Adventures will give you up to 3 days of access to all island areas (except for areas within the exclusion zones). This unique opportunity will allow you to see more of Sable Island NPR than any other method of travel!

In 2026, trips ran from late June to mid August – 8 sold out trips, 4 people per trip. Trips began on select Mondays and returned Friday afternoon/evening to Halifax. The sail takes 24 hours to reach the Sable Island from the Halifax Waterfront; guests stay on anchor for up to two nights off Sable Island, weather permitting.

Your 5 day offshore sailing trip to Sable Island National Park Reserve with Sable Ocean Adventures includes:

• Parks Canada permit fees
• Guest offshore safety gear kit
• Chef catered meals and snacks onboard the boat where you will spend up to 3 days and 2 nights anchored at Sable Island. You will sleep onboard and can make landfall at multiple locations around Sable Island.
• Guests should expect up to 6 hours of hiking in sand and on dunes with the option to explore on your own. Guests must be physically capable of boarding and disembarking the vessel by way of ladder. Minimum 16 years of age.
