Overview

Embark on a Bay of Fundy foraging adventure in the Cliffs of Fundy UNESCO Global Geopark. Discover a Nova Scotia delicacy and learn how to harvest, prepare and use this famed, umami sea snack and seasoning. 

Availability: Following the full moon on select dates in June through September, rain or shine. Tour start times are approximately one-hour before low tide.

Cost: $220 per person (minimum of two participants) or $320 per person for a solo-traveller.

How to book: Online booking is available! Final confirmation of your tour start-time will be provided at least three weeks prior to your tour.

Good to Know:

  • Tour duration: Four hours.
  • Walking distance: Approximately 3 km.
  • The rustic beach picnic may include gluten and dairy products. Please advise if you have dietary requirements at time of booking.
  • Meeting point: Fundy Geological Museum parking lot, 162 Two Islands Road, Parrsboro.
  • Washrooms are available at the Museum but there are no washrooms near to the tour location. Please plan accordingly.
  • Water shoes, harvesting tools, and gathering bags will be provided for this tour. Your guide will have trekking poles available if you choose to use them for added balance and easier navigation of the varied terrain.
  • What to wear and bring: Please bring water (1 litre per person), a small snack and sunscreen in your daypack. Wearing a hat is recommended. Ensure your footwear is suitable for navigating beaches. Closed-toe and lace-up shoes are a must for the approaching terrain to the intertidal harvest area.

  • Tours run rain or shine. Full payment is due upon booking. Advance booking is required. Tour start times and dates depend on the tides and are different every day. Cancellations are accepted up to 72 hours prior to your tour date for day tours, and 30 days for overnight tours, and are eligible for refund less a 20% handling fee. Cancellations made less than 72 hours (day tours) or 30 days (overnight tours) in advance of the tour date are not eligible for refund. Should a tour have to be postponed by Tide Rollers & Mudlarkers due to unsafe weather conditions (thunderstorms, hurricanes), an alternate tour date will be offered. In the event that you are unable to switch dates, you will receive a refund of the tour price less a 20% handling fee or you may turn your booking into a non-refundable gift certificate for the full value of the tour (no expiration date).
