Overview

Embrace the forest to find personal grounding and nature reconnection on a guided forest bathing session, led by a certified Sylvotherapy Practitioner.

Step into nature and find yourself as you embrace the living energy of the mixed Acadian forest and experience one of the seven sacred districts of Mikma’ki, and Unama’ki (Cape Breton) in a unique way. Guided by a certified Sylvotherapy Practitioner and Herbalist, you’ll follow private, groomed trails and be gently invited to ground yourself, perhaps by walking with awareness barefoot along the soft mossy forest floor. Awaken your senses during a peaceful woodland meditation, create a simple Mandala art piece to share with the forest, and end with a forest-inspired tea, infused with locally foraged flavours and a snack crafted by a local artisan.

This experience invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with nature and yourself.

Experience Highlights:

  • Begin your experience by honouring the land, lineage, and wisdom of the woods in Unama’ki — the Land of Fog (Cape Breton Island), the ancestral and unceded territory of Mi’kma’ki, home to the Mi’kmaq people since time immemorial
  • 1 or 4 hour guided Sylvotherapy (forest bathing) session, led by a certified Sylvotherapy Practitioner and Herbalist (HANS)
  • Reconnect with nature, enter the forest with intention and awareness through the practice of Sylvotherapy (Shinrin Yoku – Nature Immersion)
  • Learn about natural stress reduction and digital detox practices
  • Gain knowledge on the native and invasive species of trees that live on this land from season to season and observe Chaga, a functional forest fungi known as the King of the Mushrooms
  • Collect natural items that connect with you along your walk to create a personalized, yet collective piece of Mandala art that the group will gift back to the forest as a thank you (only included on 4-hour experience)
  • Relax with a peaceful woodland meditation, embracing an invitation for a deep rest with an opportunity to be suspended by woven air (hammock) among the trees (*if you have a touch stone or small spiritual element to have in your pocket, feel welcome to bring it)
  • Complete your walk with a ceremonial tea, infused with foraged flavours, like spruce tips, wintergreen, hemlock, red raspberry leaf, plantain, and dandelion leaf
  • Receive a carry bag for your journey that includes tea, a take home version of a simple forest meditation to relieve stress and continue to grow your sensory awareness, and a nature notebook and pencil to use during the experience, to record moments of interest and connections
