This cozy lake house was thoughtfully created as a Nordic Spa retreat – where relaxation and nature come first. Every detail supports personal and ecological wellness – from the chemical-free hot tub and scent-free, biodegradable products to the eco-conscious design throughout. Built with locally and Canadian-sourced materials – including wood harvested from our own land – it’s a place to slow down, reconnect, and feel at home in nature.

The Chef’s kitchen in Serenity Lake House has everything you need to create your favourite meals — from oils, vinegars, herbs, and spices to brand-new appliances and generous counter space. Eco-conscious touches include KILNE non-toxic nonstick pans, biodegradable cleaners, and certified organic, fair trade, bird-friendly coffee from Birds and Beans. Enjoy the coffee and tea station with a drip brewer, modern espresso machine, a lovely tea selection along with milk in the fridge. A complimentary bottle of local Nova Scotia wine and a bowl of treats await your arrival.

The beautifully appointed bedroom offers a luxurious Japanese-joinery king bed and mattress from SILK & SNOW, adjustable bedside lighting, charging stations, and cozy handmade quilts. A dedicated workspace includes a floating desk, director’s chair, desk lamp, and a wooden lap desk for flexible working.

Designed as a forest-inspired spa, the bathroom features a large walk-in shower, smart toilet with heated seat and bidet, and a compact vanity. All toiletries are biodegradable, scent-free, and refillable, reflecting our commitment to sustainability.

Outside, you’ll be greeted by huge wraparound decks where you can relax in a chair or lounger, enjoy a beverage of choice as you take in the view of the lake while listening to the loons calling. The outside dining area has a BBQ, seating for 4, and the table converts into a fire table for cozy evening fireside gatherings.

A lovely native flower garden selectively sown to attract butterflies and birds lines the front before you head down to the small sandy beach and dock, where 2 Muskoka chairs invite you to watch the sunsets and the brilliant stars.

Private Nordic Spa
Step into the natural chemical-free cedar Japanese Ofurô hot tub from the deck with the lake-view sauna just a few steps away. You can add fresh water to the sauna rocks for a deeply relaxing steam sauna experience, if you prefer. From May through October, enjoy the outdoor cold shower to complete the Nordic spa circuit… or simply cool off in the lake. This is a delightful lake for swimming, and we provide a wooden canoe and stand-up paddle board (SUP) for guests to explore the lake with.

To reduce light pollution and preserve the night sky for stargazing, we’ve installed all DarkSky-approved lighting outside.
