Overview
MacKinnon’s Campground is an open and wooded family campground nestled on the shoreline of Lake Ainslie, the largest natural fresh water lake in Nova Scotia. Centrally located, we are a perfect campground to park your RV as you explore Cape Breton Island, including:
- 25 minutes from the famous Cabot Trail in Margaree Forks as well as the village of Inverness, home to World Top 100 golf courses, Cabot Cliffs and Cabot Links
- 40 minutes from the Cabot Trail in Nyanza
- 45 minute drive from the entrance to Cape Breton Island at the Canso Causeway as the villages of Baddeck and Iona on the Bras d’Or Lake
- 60 minutes to the Acadian village of Cheticamp and the entrance to the Cape Breton Highlands National Park
- 90 minutes to Sydney and the NL ferry terminal in North Sydney
- 120 minutes to Louisbourg and the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site
