Festa Italiana Halifax – Experience Italy in the Heart of Halifax

Celebrating 50 years of Italian culture and community in Nova Scotia, Festa Italiana Halifax is a two-day celebration that brings the sights, sounds, and flavours of Italy to the heart of Halifax.

Hosted by the Italian Canadian Cultural Association of Nova Scotia, this annual event invites visitors to experience Italian culture without leaving the province. For more than 30 years, guests have travelled from across Nova Scotia to take part in this vibrant cultural weekend.

2026 Festa Italiana Halifax festival will take place:

• Friday, September 11 from 6 pm – 9 pm, and
• Saturday, September 12 from 12 pm – 9 pm

The festival features authentic Italian food, including homemade lasagna, pizza, and traditional desserts like tiramisu and cannoli. Favourites such as espresso, gnocchi, BBQ arrosticini (lamb skewers), and our homemade Italian sausages are served throughout the weekend. Menu prices range from $5 – $20 for various items on the menu and cash, debit, and credit cards can be used to purchase food tickets.

Set in both indoor and outdoor spaces, Festa Italiana offers a welcoming atmosphere for families and visitors of all ages. Guests can enjoy great food, connect with the community, and experience Italian culture in a relaxed and social setting.

Visitors can also take part in a quick 20-minute Italian lesson or try their hand at bocce on the ICCA’s bocce court, adding a fun and interactive way to experience Italian traditions during the event.

Whether you are reconnecting with your heritage or discovering Italian culture for the first time, this event is a highlight of the late summer festival season in Nova Scotia.
