Rug Hooking Lunch & Learn

Deanne Fitzpatrick is a celebrated artist and writer, exhibited widely, including two solo exhibits at The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. Deanne holds an honorary doctorate from Mount Saint Vincent University and was awarded The Order of Canada for her contribution to the advancement of rug hooking as an art form. Learn more.

Rug Hooking Lunch & Learn includes:

• Tea and oatcakes to welcome you.
• Guided tour of Deanne Fitzpatrick Rug Hooking Studio.
• Hands-on introduction to the art of rug hooking & insights on the tradition of rug hooking in Nova Scotia.
• Choice of beginner rug hooking kit with all necessary supplies to make your first piece.
• Lunch or dinner at the Portlander Jamaican Restaurant.

Rug Hooking Lunch & Learn is available year-round, on Wednesdays through Fridays (subject to availability). Please make your booking at least three-days prior to your preferred experience date.

Package Price: $129.00 + tax, per person. This package must be booked with a minimum of two participants.

How to Book: Purchase your package online for the number of participants in your group. Please include your preferred visit date and time in the notes section at check-out. A team member from the studio will call to confirm your experience within 48-hours.

Good to Know:

• The studio experience portion of this package is approximately 1.5-2 hours in length.
• This package can be booked for up to 15 participants.
• A $25 gift card for The Portlander Restaurant will be provided at the studio during your experience. Choose from classic maritime dishes like fish cakes or famous Portlander fish and chips, authentic Jamaican cuisine steeped in generations of family recipes and traditions, or their highly recommended curry stir-fry!
• It is recommended that you book a reservation at The Portlander Restaurant for your preferred dining time after booking your Rug Hooking Lunch & Learn package.
• The studio experience is suitable for ages 8+.
