Nova Scotia's Original Wine Country

Situated on one of the cooler climate limits for vines, Nova Scotia’s soil and mesoclimates create some of the most distinctive premium-quality grapes in North America. We have a long and rich tradition for growing grapes for wine dating back to the 1600s, when this was one of the first areas to cultivate grapes in North America.

Wineries

There are over 70 grape growers and more than 600 acres under vine in several different regions across the province. Our wineries have garnered international acclaim for their efforts and genuine passion, including the introduction of our appellation wine, Tidal Bay. There are 17 wineries in operation in the province, with several more on the horizon.

Good Cheer Trail

Did you know that the Nova Scotia Good Cheer Trail is Canada’s first winery, craft brewery, cidery and distillery trail, allowing you even more ways to sample the local fare.
