Travel Media Assistance Request Form

THANK YOU for your interest in Nova Scotia! We are always interested in learning about opportunities to create awareness of Nova Scotia as a travel destination! This form is designed to collect information that will assist us in formally reviewing your request. Please complete this form in full to the best of your abilities.

As a division of the Nova Scotia Department of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage, Tourism Nova Scotia works with communities and industry operators to attract visitors to the province and increase tourism revenues through experience and sector development, business coaching, marketing, and visitor servicing. Tourism Nova Scotia is responsible for the administration of the Travel Media Relations program, which is designed to assist with creating editorial opportunities to promote the unique products and experiences the province has to offer. Most of our press trips are individual, self-drive and custom-designed itineraries to meet the needs and requirements of the media representative and/or outlets best suited to our core markets:

  • Canada (primarily Ontario and Quebec residents)
  • USA (primarily Northeast US and New England residents)
  • UK & Ireland
  • Germany

Please send as much detail as possible about your assignment/project, budgets, locations, audience demographics, etc as it relates to helping us reach our core markets.

Tourism Nova Scotia provides the following assistance for accredited and qualified travel media representatives on an approved assignment:

  • transportation (approved airfare and car rentals for media representative only – please refer to our hosting guidelines for more information)
  • accommodations based on single or double occupancy
  • meals and/or meal per diems for media representative only
  • admission and/or per diems to attractions and venues
  • itinerary development and interview requirements
  • images / b-roll

The following expenses are not covered by Tourism Nova Scotia and are the responsibility of the media guest:

  • all gratuities;
  • fuel for rental car;
  • rental car amenities (ie. GPS, additional driver, car seats, etc)
  • personal and/or travel insurance
  • film permits
  • any cancellation fees incurred with less than 24 hrs notice

PLEASE NOTE:  Our primary goal is to assist media guests who can provide editorial coverage of Nova Scotia as a travel destination within our identified core strategies and markets. We are a small but mighty destination but that also means we have a small and not so mighty budget!  We can only assist with expenses related to the travel media representative.
