Named in honour of New Glasgow’s founding and current-day pioneers, the Pioneer Trail includes a gazebo look-off view of Potters Brook and the Charlie Hoegg Kinsmen Covered Bridge. The Pioneer Trail is a 2.2km pavement and gravel trail that connects Down Town New Glasgow to the East River Road Business Corridor. This trail begins at the George Street Bridge Pedway, runs on paved streets Riverside Parkway turning onto Glasgow Street and then Stewart Street where trail users can then access the gravel portion of the trail which runs behind Tartan Field and ends at Tim Horton’s on East River Road.

Trailheads are located at the George Street Bridge Pedway, near the corner of Stewart Street and McColl Street and East River Road, next to the Tim Hortons.
