Overview
Nelson House Bed and Breakfast is a stately century home, circa 1905, centrally located in Stewiacke on the Glooscap Trail in the Bay of Fundy & Annapolis Valley region of Nova Scotia. We offer the modern accommodation comforts of today surrounded by the charm of yesteryear.
Our location is ideal for exploring many holiday attractions on easy day trips. Experience the world’s highest tides while Tidal Bore rafting on the Bay of Fundy. Take the family to Shubenacadie Wildlife Park, Nova Scotia’s foremost wildlife destination, or view the tidal bore on a nearby trail. Stop by Mastodon Ridge where you can follow a walking trail to the spot that marks the halfway point between the Equator and the North Pole. Just a 25 minute drive away, go shopping, watch the tidal bore roll in at the Fundy Discovery Site or discover the wonders of Victoria Park in Truro, a natural 400-acre park with maintained trails leading to waterfalls, and for those up for a challenge, don’t miss the 180-foot climb up Jacob’s Ladder staircase. Within an hour’s drive you can shop and dine in Dartmouth and Halifax, relax on warm Northumberland Shore beaches or hike the rugged Atlantic Coast on the Eastern Shore.
Our accommodations include two rooms:
- Country Garden Room with double bed and ensuite bath
- Victorian Rose Room with queen bed and private bath
Room amenities include cable television, free wireless Internet, air conditioning, in-room coffee and bathrobes.
Our century home features leaded glass windows, a large veranda and lush gardens. We are within walking distance to downtown Stewiacke and 39 kilometres to the airport. Check in time is 4pm – 9pm; Check out time is 10am.
We are pleased to offer you a gourmet breakfast, made with local produce, between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. each morning of your stay. Choose from eggs benedict, Belgian waffles with fruit and locally produced maple syrup and/or, for the health enthusiasts, yogurt and homemade granola with fruit.
We are a proud member of the Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia. Visa, MasterCard and Direct Debit are accepted.
Pet Policy: Dogs may be permitted; $10 per day pet fee.
