Explore the Ocean Floor at Low Tide: A breathtaking experience for the entire family, discover nature and walk on the ocean floor, a space that was up to 53 feet underwater only hours earlier.

This is our most popular tour and one suited for all ages! Experience a whole new world revealed to you on the bottom of the ocean floor at the site of the world’s highest tides. At low tide, start your adventure at the Burntcoat Head Park lighthouse, where a knowledgeable guide will lead you to the ocean floor. Stop along the way to discover tidal pools and the life beneath the surface of the mudflats. Listen to local tales and learn the influence of people on this landscape shaped by the Bay of Fundy tides.

Tour includes:

  • 1.5 hour (1-2 km) guided ocean floor tour:  Engage with your expert guide in a small group setting and discover incredible diversity of life on the bottom of the ocean floor.
  • Picnic blankets are provided for lounging on the ocean floor or for enjoying your favorite snacks.
  • Incredible photo opportunities: Capture memories that will be sure to last a lifetime.

Tour costs: Prices do not include tax

  • Adults: $20
  • Senior (65+) or Child (under 18): $17.50
  • No charge for children five and under

Things to keep in mind:

  • Terrain is slippery and uneven at times. If you have mobility concerns, contact us to check if this experience is right for you.
  • Sturdy shoes or boots that are washable or waterproof are a must. Bring layers of clothing and a hat to be prepared for the ever-changing coastal weather. We also recommend a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. Snacks also welcome! A foot wash is available after the tour but be aware that the Bay of Fundy mud may stain some fabrics.
