Discover the historic significance of Parrsboro’s maritime history with local historian Jeff Orr. Retreat to the historic Gillespie House Inn for a well-deserved and relaxing overnight stay with a delicious hot breakfast, plus access to the on-site sauna and yoga studio. 

This coastal getaway for two will give you a taste of the unique geological history, heritage, and culture that shapes the significance of the Cliffs of Fundy UNESCO Global Geopark.

Good to Know:

  • Check-in at Gillespie House Inn anytime between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Please check out by 11:00 a.m.
  • Tour start times depend on Bay of Fundy tide times and will be confirmed, along with tour meeting points, by Tide Rollers & Mudlarkers within 48-hours of your booking.
    • Your one-hour Parrsboro tour with Jeff Off covers approximately 2 km in distance over easy, paved terrain.
    • Your 90-minute tour with Anna/Tide Rollers & Mudlarkers covers approximately 4 km in distance over moderate terrain.
  • What to wear and bring: It’s recommended that you carry water, a small snack, and sunscreen in your daypack. Dress in layers to keep the wind/sun out. The weather can be unpredictable. A hat is also recommended. Ensure footwear is comfortable for walking on pavement and diverse beach terrain. Closed-toe and lace-up shoes are recommended. Your guide will have trekking poles available if you choose to use them for added balance and easier navigation of the varied terrain.

  • Advance booking is required (seven days). Tour times depend on the tides and are different every day. All tours require a minimum of two participants and can accommodate a maximum of six participants. Single traveller tours are available, please contact Tide Rollers & Mudlarkers to inquire. Cancellations must be made through Gillespie House Inn (902-254-3196) for this getaway package, at least 72 hours in advance of your arrival date. If your tour must be cancelled due to poor or unsafe weather conditions, Tide Rollers & Mudlarkers will try to move or rebook your tours, or your package cost will be adjusted without tour costs.
