Woo’s Kitchen – Uptown Amherst
For nearly 40 years, Woo’s Kitchen has been serving the Amherst community and visitors from around the world with fresh, authentic Chinese cuisine and exceptional hospitality. Since opening in 1987, owner and chef Bill Woo and his wife have built a reputation for quality food, friendly service, and a commitment to excellence.
Bill’s culinary journey began when he moved from China to Canada at just 14 years old. After years of working in the hospitality industry as both a server and chef, and learning under the guidance of his uncle, he fulfilled his dream of opening his own restaurant. Today, he continues to personally oversee the preparation of every dish, taking pride in using fresh ingredients and traditional techniques to create flavourful, made-to-order Chinese cuisine.
A welcoming atmosphere, and attentive service, Woo’s Kitchen is a favourite destination for both dine-in guests and takeout customers. Popular combination plates feature favourites such as crispy chicken balls, fried rice, egg rolls, and spring rolls, while Chef Bill’s specialty dishes- including Moo Goo Gai Pan, Cantonese Chow Mein, and spicy Szechuan selections showcase his decades of experience and passion for authentic flavours.
Guests praise the restaurant’s fresh, delicious food, generous portions, efficient service, and warm hospitality. Whether you’re a local customer or visiting Amherst for the first time, Woo’s Kitchen offers a memorable dining experience rooted in tradition, quality, and nearly four decades of community connection.
