Not Since Moses 5K and 10K

The ocean floor awaits during the annual Not Since Moses 5K and 10K! Race the tides in this ‚run for your life‘ event in Five Islands, Nova Scotia!

For just a few hours, on just a few days of the year, the tides are low enough in this area of the Bay of Fundy to allow this one-of-a-kind run along the ocean floor where just hours before there was 50 feet of water… and will be again in just matter of hours!

It’s muddy, it’s rough, it’s a blast! Dig out your old shoes and come get stuck with us on a 5km or 10km race course! If you’re up for a bit of fresh, authentic, seaside fun, then this will be one of the most memorable experiences of your life!

Parking for all participants and spectators is available at the Five Islands Lighthouse Park. Buses are on-site to transport 10K race participants to their start location.

Adults and teens can choose from two courses:

• a 5K course which starts and finishes at Five Islands Lighthouse Park in Five Islands, Nova Scotia, running through muddy areas and out onto the exposed sea bed next to magnificent cliffs usually only seen by boat.
• a 10K course which starts at picturesque Soley Cove and finishes at Five Islands Lighthouse Park.
  • Please note: due to the timing of the tides, you must be able to complete a normal 10km run in less than 1hr 15min to participate in this race.

Youth run: consists of 1-4 loops of a 500m mud course that begins and ends at Lighthouse Park, after the other races end. These runs are an absolute blast for kids: muddy, slippery, sloshy, and a hilariously great time suitable for all abilities and fitness levels.

Where: At the spectacular vista of Five Islands on the scenic Glooscap Trail within the Cliffs of Fundy UNESCO Global Geopark, located just two hours north of Halifax, one hour from Sackville, NB and Truro, NS.
