Overview

Hike along the ocean floor while the Bay of Fundy tides are at extreme lows and marvel at Two Islands’ steep granite cliffs. Feel invigorated as the tide trickles in around Big Brother Island and swirls around your feet, rising to your knees and covers the once visible ocean floor during a ‘Meeting of the Waters’ phenomenon.

Outdoor enthusiasts won’t want to miss this exclusive guided adventure in the Cliffs of Fundy UNESCO Global Geopark, available for just five days following the full moon!

Duration & distance: 4.5 hours, 6 km (return)

Projected dates for 2025:

  • June 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16
  • July 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15
  • August 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14

Cost: $250 for 1- 4 participants. Includes ‘Meeting of the Waters Certificate of Achievement’ and refreshments.

Good to Know:

  • PLEASE NOTE: Interested participants are required to complete a fitness intake form for this guided adventure. Tide Rollers & Mudlarkers offers a wide range of guided hikes for a variety of fitness and experience levels. Please advise of any dietary requirements or food allergies at time of booking.
  • Your guide, Anna, is accredited and well-versed in the Bay of Fundy tides and unique features in the Cliffs of Fundy UNESCO Global Geopark. Exact tour start times will be confirmed once your tour is booked, as it is based on daily fluctuating tide times. Please arrive at the meeting location at least 15 minutes prior to the tour start time.
  • Meeting point: Parrsboro Bandstand (4030 Eastern Ave., corner of Main Street & Eastern Avenue). After meeting with your guide, you will follow in your vehicle to the trail head (less than 10 minutes away).
  • What to wear and bring: Hat, hiking boots or, at a minimum, runners with sturdy tread are a must. You may also consider bringing water shoes and wearing shorts if you choose an immersive experience! Dress in layers to keep the wind/sun out. The weather can be unpredictable. Bring a backpack with drinking water and your preferred snacks. If you would like to take pictures, bring your camera with a fully charged battery.

Conditions & Cancellations: Advance booking is required; tour times depend on the tides and are different every day. This tour requires a minimum of 1 person, max 4. Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours in advance of scheduled tours. If your tour is cancelled due to poor conditions, there will be no charge and we will try to rebook your tour.
