Tour & Tasting at Bear River Vineyards

Meet fellow wine enthusiasts on a fun and relaxed 20-to-30-minute guided winery tour at Bear River Vineyards, located in one of North America’s oldest wine regions. Explore the stunning vineyard landscape, then savour three unique wines of your choice with a tasting led by a knowledgeable winery staff member, in the rustic and elegant tasting room.

Experience Highlights:

• Experience the history behind Bear River Vineyards’ gravity fed wine-making process as you tour through the lovingly restored “bank barn” winery, dating back to 1883.
• Discover Canada’s original wine region in the quaint tidal village of Bear River to learn about the sheltered inland valley and Bay of Fundy influences on the terroir that was historically home to the first grapes, planted in Canada over four hundred years ago.
• See the results of the passion and hard work that goes into the care and cultivation of this stunning vineyard, situated on the banks the Bear River.
• Taste three award winning small batch wines guided by a knowledgeable Bear River Vineyards team member.

Dates: Offered May 17 through October 12, 2024 between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm daily, based on availability. Last booking is 5:00 pm.  

Price: $10.00 – 20.00 per person (price includes HST), your choice of tasting option:

• $10.00: Tour and guided tasting of three wines of your choosing, one ounce pour each
• $20.00: Tour and a self directed flight of four wines of your choosing, two ounce pours each, enjoyed outside overlooking the vineyard

​To Book: Groups of less than four-people do not have to be reserved in advance and are available on first come first served basis. For larger parties or to ensure a specific tour reservation time, please book in advance by calling the Winery at 1-902-467-4156 or email sales@bearrivervineyards.com. Email reservations will be confirmed.  

Good to Know:

• There is no charge for the designated driver or children under 19, but please include them in your reservation numbers.
• Guests wanting to extend their experience overlooking the idyllic vineyard have the opportunity to add a glass of wine.
• We don’t have food onsite but welcome you to bring your own picnic. 
• This tour includes walking up/down stairs but can be modified to accommodate various mobility levels. Please advise at time of booking.
• Dress for the weather. The winery barn is not heated and can be chilly on rainy or cooler days.
• Reservations do not guarantee a private tour for your party. We invite you to consider our Private Owner-led Vineyard Tour & Tasting as a more intimate alternative. 
• Please call in advance if you may be late for your scheduled tour time. Late arrivals can not be guaranteed, but we will do our best to accommodate you.
