Explore the winter wonderland of Thomas Cove Coastal Reserve Trails, in the heart of the Cliffs of Fundy UNESCO Global Geopark. Nestled among breathtaking landscapes, this enchanting tour guides you through snow-covered forests to a unique Bay of Fundy coastline and Cliffs of Fundy Geosite.

Experience Highlights:

  • Snowshoe or hike 4 km of tree and moss-covered woodland trails along the Thomas Cove Coastal Reserve Trails, in the Cliffs of Fundy UNESCO Global Geopark.
  • Discover unique features of the Geopark’s coastal terrain as you trek through the peaceful wilderness, marvel at panoramic views of the rugged coastline, and take in the magnificent Minas Basin area of the Bay of Fundy.
  • Hear insights into the area’s rich geological and cultural heritage with your knowledgeable Outdoor Council of Canada certified field leader and GeoPark Ambassador, Anna.

Availability: This tour is available year-round, rain or shine, as a guided hike or a guided snowshoe tour when there’s enough snow. Tour start times can be customized to your group.

Cost: $180 for 1- 4 participants. Add additional participants for +$40 per person, up to a maximum of 6 participants, snowshoe rental, snack and hot beverage included.

Good to Know:

  • This tour is suitable for beginners and a variety of ability levels! The snowshoe tour includes a 20-minute confidence-building session to ensure entry-level snowshoe enthusiasts are comfortable with techniques and equipment.
  • Duration & distance: 2.5-3 hours, 4 km loop (including return).
  • Meeting point: Cliffs of Fundy UNESCO Global Geopark Thomas Cove Geosite parking lot (654 Economy Point Rd). Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the tour start time. Exact tour start time will be confirmed once your tour is booked.
  • What to wear and bring: Warm winter outdoor clothing and footwear including hiking boots or winter boots. Dress in layers to keep the wind/sun out. The weather can be unpredictable. Rain ponchos available upon request. Bring a daypack with drinking water and your preferred snacks. If you would like to take pictures, bring your camera with fully charged battery.

Cancellation Policy: Advance booking is required. All tours require a minimum of 1 person, max 6. Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours in advance. If your tour is cancelled due to poor weather conditions, there will be no charge and Tide Rollers & Mudlarkers will try to rebook your tour.
