Sugar Islands Boat Tour
Overview
Spend time on a lobster boat exploring the Sugar Islands, with it’s seabirds, eagles, and seals. Then, let’s explore the ocean floor – who know what lurks there. We also learn about the lobster fishery and try our hand at a bit of fishing. The scenery is stunning.
Experience Includes
- Hosting by experienced boat tour skipper Damien Delorey and naturalist guide Dr. Stephen Flemming. They will tell you all about lobster fishing, wildlife conservation, and the local history of the islands.
- The Sugar Islands are designated as an Important Bird and Biodiversity Area, with thousands of seabirds nesting on the islands each year, and where Bald Eagles and Ospreys bide their time looking for diner.
- Learn about the intriguing local history of the islands. This is where Champlain met with Basque fishers to learn about the area and the Mi’kmaw People. It is also a place of shipwrecks and stories.
