Salsman Night Skies
Overview
Constellations and moon views: Use telescopes and star maps as an amateur astronomer and listen to stories about the cosmos at Salsman Provincial Park. Learn the constellations and experience the wonders of the night sky. This is “Get-your-geek-on” fun for the whole family.
Experience Includes
- Guided by an experienced naturalist, you will learn about star and moon charts and then together we will explore the night sky. We learn the constellations, and depending on the date, spend time looking at the moon or planets by telescope and binoculars.
- This is a chance to truly appreciate and learn about the night sky and nocturnal wildlife while looking over Country Harbour. Your guide will also share stories about astronauts and exoplanet scientists he has met. While looking at the heavens, we will have soft background music suitable for the occasion.
Length: Two hours.
Offered: Saturdays at Salsman Provincial Park, 9-11 pm, July – September
Price: Adult: $40, Children Under 16: $20 (15% discount – booking for two or more)
Good to Know: Bring good footwear (sneakers are fine), layers of clothing, and an inquisitive mind.
Cancellation Policy: Full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before the experience start time. Non-refundable after that deadline. If NovaNature is forced to cancel due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, you will be notified as early as possible, and fully refunded.
