Private Owner-led Vineyard Tour & Tasting

Take an exclusive journey behind-the-scenes at Bear River Vineyards, in one of North America’s oldest wine regions. Learn about this historic winery, as seen through the eyes of its Owners, as they guide you on 45-to-60-minute property tour and tasting of award-winning, small-batch wines.

Experience Highlights:

• Hear first-hand insights into the unique gravity fed wine-making process housed in the lovingly restored, unique “bank barn” winery, dating back to 1883.
• Gain an understanding about the sheltered inland valley that was home to the first grapes planted in Canada over four hundred years ago and the challenges and triumphs in continuing to produce high quality Nova Scotian wines. 
• Learn about the passion and hard work that goes into the care and cultivation of this stunning vineyard, situated on the banks of the Bear River, feeding into the Bay of Fundy.
• Savour an enhanced tasting of four Bear River Vineyards award-winning, small batch wines guided by the very people who make them. Together, Winegrower Darren and Winemaker Susan share their passion, vision, and home with wine lovers around the world!

Dates: Offered May 18 through October 12, 2024 between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm daily, based on availability. Last booking is 5:00 pm. 

Price: $20.00 per person (price includes HST)

Good to Know:

• Each serving is one ounce per wine sampled.
• Guests wanting to extend their experience overlooking the idyllic vineyard have the opportunity to add a glass of wine.
• We don’t have food onsite but welcome you to bring your own picnic. 
• This tour includes walking up/down stairs but can be modified to accommodate various mobility levels. Please advise at time of booking.
• Dress for the weather. The winery barn is not heated and can be chilly on rainy or cooler days.
• Please call in advance if you may be late for your scheduled tour time. Late arrivals can not be guaranteed, but we will do our best to accommodate you.
