Citadel by Candlelight Holiday Tour

Tour the Halifax Citadel by candlelight and hear stories and anecdotes about how the fort’s 78th Highlander soldiers celebrated the holidays!  The 75 minute tour will share a rare glimpse of the Halifax Citadel at night!

Candlelight tour details:

• Tour the iconic Halifax Citadel by candlelight with a 78th Highlander as your guide, and explore its fortified rooms and casemates
• See how British army soldiers like the 78th Highlanders celebrated the holidays
• Sit around a soldiers’ winter campfire as you listen to soldiers’ stories and enjoy a hot drink
• Watch a show from a real, antique “magic lantern” similar to those used in the schoolroom at the Halifax Citadel in the 1860s
• Meet the Victorian-era Father Christmas!
