Overview
Embrace the cozy vibes of fall with a unique hands-on experience at Meander River Farm & Brewery as you create your own wooden wares in the crisp autumn air. Carve, sip and celebrate the season with Woods(wo)man Woodworking and learn the art of wood carving, accompanied by delicious small-batch ciders and craft beer!
Experience Includes:
- Hand carve your own wooden ware with guidance from local woodworker, Jackie Toner of Woods(wo)man Woodworking. Public experiences have set designs/pieces for all participants, based on the date. Workshops run from 12 pm – 3 pm offering the perfect afternoon escape:
- September 14th: carve your own Kuksa Cup, a traditional Scandinavian drinking vessel.
- October 12th: craft a wooden spatula that’s both functional and beautiful.
- November 3rd: carve a pair of Snowflake Ornaments
- Private group bookings available for 6 – 12 participants. Must be booked a minimum of 7-days prior to your requested date. Subject to availability.
- One complimentary local beverage from a selection of NS craft beer, cider, and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Happy hour pricing at Meander River Farm and Brewery during and after your experience. Meander River Farm and Brewery crafts seasonal and small lot beers and ciders from their family owned and operated farm-brewery.
About Your Host: Jackie Toner, Woods(wo)man Woodworking
Jackie Toner (she/her) is a queer female woodworker and the creative force behind Woods(wo)man Woodworking, based in Pesikitik/Windsor, Nova Scotia. Through her work, Jackie has redefined what it means to be a woodworker, challenging gender stereotypes in the craft industry and creating space for inclusivity and creativity. Her passion lies in crafting both beautiful and functional pieces, using a range of methods and materials. Beyond her own creations, Jackie loves sharing her skills and knowledge, inspiring others through teaching and helping them discover the joy of woodworking. Read more about Jackie’s story HERE.

Private Group Bookings: Available for 6 – 12 participants Thursdays through Sundays, year-round. Please complete a private group booking form. Your booking must be requested a minimum of 7-days in advance of your preferred experience date. Subject to availability.
Price: $130 + HST per person for public experiences. Starting at $780 + HST for a private group of 6 participants.

Good to Know:
- Experiences take place outside on nicer days, so please dress accordingly. Your clothes may become dusty as we are working with wood.
- In the event of rainy or inclement weather, the experience will take place inside Meander River Farm & Brewery in their upstairs loft.
- Meander River Farm is barrier-free outdoors and on the bottom level of the taproom. Please advise if you require accessibility accommodations at time of booking.
- This experience is suitable for children over 10 and all skill levels!
- Non-alcoholic beverages are available on-site. Opting out of the complimentary-beverage does not change the cost of the experience.
