Overview
Surrounded by nature Winsome Cottage is a sunny accessible home in a peaceful setting. Enjoy a morning coffee in the large sunroom, look for deer in the garden, listen to the songbirds, watch as sea gulls glide effortlessly overhead.
Winsome Cottage is located in the small hamlet of Port LaTour, on the South West shore of Nova Scotia. Set in a large private garden the cottage enjoys lively views of Seal Point Wharf across the bay. The lawn leads down to a shoreline of pebbles and patches of sand. Take a stroll and go beach combing. You may see a seal or two bobbing along in the water. Port LaTour wharf, Crow’s Neck Beach, Bacarro Point Lighthouse, the archaeological site of Fort Saint Louis and Sand Hills Provincial Park Beach are all within a few minutes’ drive. Barrington is the closest town. Here you will find restaurants, museums and shopping. It’s a short drive to Cape Sable Island. Yarmouth, Pubnico, Shelburne and Lockeport are all manageable day trips.
Winsome Cottage is a bright, open plan home with a large kitchen, dining and living room areas. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, and an assortment of small appliances and plenty of counter space. The living room is comfortably furnished with mid-century modern style furnishings and satellite TV. The living space is extended by a large sun room with an electric fireplace. Winsome Cottage has an accessible floor plan with 36 inch wide doorways, walk-in shower, and inside ramp.
The cottage sleeps 4 in two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen size bed while the second bedroom has a double bed. Both bedrooms are furnished with bedside tables, chests of drawers and closets. The master bedroom has an en suite 3 piece bathroom with a walk in shower. The main cottage bathroom is a large 4 piece with laundry facilities.
All bed linens and towels are provided. Winsome Cottage has internet access and satellite TV. The cottage is not pet friendly.
Safety
For the protection of our guests we are leaving a full day between guests in order for our cleaning staff to completely clean and sanitize the space. Covid-19 cleaning, health and safety protocols are followed.
Minimum stay
5 to 7 days in July and August; 3 days in May, June, September and October

Payment Options
Deposit required at time of booking. Email Transfer is the preferred method of payment. Visa, MasterCard, or personal cheque in Canadian Dollars also accepted.
Cancellation Policy
50% refund for cancellations made at least 60 days before check-in. 25% refund for cancellation made between 30 and 60 days prior to check-in. No refunds for cancellations made within 30 days of check-in.
