Overview

Simon’s Point Trail offers a short but rugged 0.8 kilometre (0.5 mile) walk to the mouth of Freshwater Brook and the ocean. It travels through the area once used by attackers in both sieges of the Fortress of Louisbourg.

This rustic trail is perfect for hikers looking for a quiet and peaceful escape into nature. Boardwalks throughout the trail help you navigate boggy areas as the land transitions from Acadian forest to Atlantic Coast. Cross a wooden footbridge to get a glimpse of the waves crashing against the rocky intertidal in a landscape weathered by time.

There is limited parking available at the trailhead.
