An utterly enchanting beach house!  A hundred feet from the high water mark and surrounded on three sides by sand and sea, Sanderling harmonizes beautifully with its natural surroundings of soft golden sands, sea breezes and spectacular ocean views.

Sanderling Beach House is located at the very end of the specular Louis Head beach: a 3-kilometer (2-mile) white sandy beach with a shallow grade and gently rolling waves.  The shallow ocean waters, make it an excellent beach for swimming, body surfing, sea kayaking, beachcombing or for simply relaxing.  It is possible to spend the entire day there without feeling the need to venture out.  However, if you can tear yourself away from the beach, there is plenty of explore in the area. For theatre, fine dining, museums, shopping and other attractions, Shelburne is approximately 35 minutes away; while Lockeport with its beautiful Crescent Beach is a 15 minute drive. Halifax is two hours.  Peggy’s Cove, the UNESCO town of Lunenburg, and whale watching in Digby are all pleasant doable day trips.

Bright and sunny with the warmth of natural wood, this Sanderling Beach House is everything you would imagine a Nova Scotia beach house to be. Built in 2006, this 2,000 sq ft. architecturally designed house reflects the character and styling of a traditional New England Cape Cod home, while incorporating modern elements like open concept living spaces and floor to ceiling windows. Immediately upon entering, the eye is drawn to the expansive ocean views.  The ground floor has an open concept design that incorporates a living room, dining room and a dream kitchen with all new appliances.   A utility room, the master bedroom and ensuite 3-piece bathroom make up the rest of the downstairs floor plan. Upstairs are two additional bedrooms, a second 4-piece bathroom and a sitting room with a view so spectacular that it is impossible to concentrate on anything else!

Sanderling Beach House sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms.  All the bedrooms have queen size beds, plenty of closet space and picture perfect views of the beach and ocean beyond. There are two bathrooms.  The main bathroom features a walk in, ocean inspired glass mosaic tiled shower.  Upstairs the bathroom is a four piece with a shower / tub combination.  An outside shower allows you to wash the sand off before coming inside.

A two-sided wrap-around deck with screened gazebo and a boardwalk that traverses the sand dunes and leads onto the beach have the effect of further extending the living space. So whether you are dining alfresco on the deck or simply relaxing listening to the waves, it is hard to escape the overwhelming sense of peace and tranquility.

All bed linens and towels are provided. Sanderling Beach House has a TV for movie watching, but no internet access.

Safety:

For the protection of our guests we are leaving a full day between guests in order for our cleaning staff to completely clean and sanitize the space.  Covid-19 cleaning, health and safety protocols are followed.

Minimum stay:

5 to 7 days during the summer months, 3 days during the shoulder season

Payment Options:

Deposit required at time of booking.  Email Transfer is the preferred method of payment.  Visa, MasterCard, or personal cheque in Canadian Dollars also accepted.

Cancellation Policy:

50% refund for cancellations made at least 60 days before check-in. 25% refund for cancellation made between 30 and 60 days prior to check-in.  No refunds for cancellations made within 30 days of check-in.
