Ravens Hollow

Uninterrupted peace and quiet, spectacular harbour views and a stunning natural setting are what you will find at Ravens Hollow.  Fill your lungs with fresh salty ocean breezes and your ears with the sounds of sea birds and lapping waves. Get out and explore or just sit back, relax and enjoy the view.

In a protective cove, at the end of a winding dive way, Ravens Hollow is a private haven at the head of Shelburne’s magnificent harbour.  The immediate area is a secluded garden. A small grassy lawn leads down to a rocky berm and the water’s edge. The historic town of Shelburne is just 15 minutes away. Here you will find restaurants, bars, a craft brewery and tap room as well as boutique shops, museums, a theatre for the performing arts and other amenities. The closest beach is Carleton Village Beach, just a 5 minute drive down the road. Another 5 minutes in the same direction is Roseway Beach. Across the bay is the Sandy Point Lighthouse Beach and Community Centre.  Further afield, but within easy day trip distance are other beaches, provincial parks and fishing villages and touristy towns like Lunenburg, Chester and Mahone Bay. 

Ravens Hollow is a charming, bright open concept 2 bedroom cottage.  Perfect for a couple or small group of friends looking to unplug and spend a few days together in the peace and quiet of ocean front living.   The ground floor features an open-concept living and dining room with a well equipped kitchen complete with fridge, stove, microwave and dishwasher.  Simply furnished with a selection of antiques and eclectic pieces, the cottage is appealing and comfortable.  Large windows and a patio door flood the room with light and create a space that is warm and sunny. 

The cottage sleeps 4 in two bedrooms.  Upstairs, the master bedroom has a queen size bed, a small sitting room with a television and expansive views of the harbour.  The second bedroom on the ground floor has a double bed.  There is a four piece bathroom and laundry facilities (stacking washer and dryer) also located on the ground floor.

Outside a large deck with lawn furniture and propane BBQ invites you to sit, relax and take in the unobstructed views of Shelburne Harbour and the Sandy Point Lighthouse. The garden has direct access to the shoreline.  The shore is a mix of sandy spots and pebbled beach.

All bed linens and towels are provided.  Ravens Hollow has internet (provided by a Bell Aliant Turbo Hub).  It does not have satellite TV but it does have a TV and a large selection of DVDs for movie watching.  The cottage is pet friendly.   

Safety:

For the protection of our guests we are leaving a full day between guests in order for our cleaning staff to completely clean and sanitize the space.  Covid-19 cleaning, health and safety protocols are followed.

Minimum stay:

5 to 7 days in July and August; 3 days in May, June, September and October

Payment Options:

Deposit required at time of booking.  Email Transfer is the preferred method of payment.  Visa, MasterCard, or personal cheque in Canadian Dollars also accepted.  

Cancellation Policy:

50% refund for cancellations made at least 60 days before check-in. 25% refund for cancellation made between 30 and 60 days prior to check-in.  No refunds for cancellations made within 30 days of check-in.
