At Petite Rivière B&B and Heritage Farm the clean country air will refresh and restore you. Located in Crousetown, along the Lighthouse Route on the South Shore, this pastoral setting offers the perfect escape from the stresses of daily life. Unplug, unwind and enjoy.
The 1850s homestead is ideally situated on 22 acres, amidst sweeping meadows and woodlands on the banks of picturesque Petite Rivière. Our farm is home to many heritage animals, including sheep, pigs, chickens and llamas. You will also find a variety of flower gardens, heirloom apple and cherry trees, and a berry and large organic vegetable garden, all overlooking the river.
Stroll through the meadow, fish for trout out back in the Petite Rivière (fishing license required), or explore the local beaches, which many believe to be the most spectacular in Nova Scotia. Found within a short driving distance are Rissers, Crescent and Green Bay Beaches. You may also wish to take the time to visit The Petite Rivière Vineyards for a tour and a taste of their products. They rely on the unique terroir of one of the oldest grape growing regions in North America and are noted for their reds.
Our accommodations include one room and one 2-bedroom suite, all with queen beds. One comes with a private 3-piece bath with shower and the other is an ensuite 3-piece bath with shower. Both come with a television, DVD player, Turkish cotton towels, Egyptian cotton 400-count linens, artisan toiletries, and complimentary tea and coffee. A clothing iron is available upon request.
In the morning, we provide a full gourmet country breakfast, featuring a selection of local organic foods and ingredients, including fresh eggs from our hen house, seasonal fresh fruit and berries from the garden or local farmer’s market and artisan cheeses. Breakfast is served between 8:30 and 10 a.m., and guests are welcome to arrive at any time during this time period.
