Ottoview Wilderness Cabins
Overview
Two wilderness camping cabins, Morning Glory and Jessie Bay, are located on a privately owned mountaintop wooded area with a panoramic view of St. Mary’s Bay. The covered front decks are adorned with solar LED miniature lights – a great place for cooking and enjoying the view. Each cabin has twin and double beds (with mattresses). The cabins are off the grid and therefore do not have running water or electricity. There are outdoor non-flush toilets onsite, and showering facilities are available for our guests (for a fee) a 5-minute drive away.
Maximum 4 guests in each cottage.
We provide:
a small kitchen area with sink, shelves, counter, pots and pans, hand soap and dish detergent
containers of water for cooking and washing
BBQ (propane provided) and a camp stove (bring your own propane cylinder)
battery-operated lights (two per cabin, dim lights)
paper towels and toilet tissue
a wood stove for heat on cool spring and fall evenings, and a campfire pit (wood is available for purchase)
Bring your own camping supplies:
drinking water
coolers for your food
flashlights
any other camping supplies that you consider necessary
Explore! There are plenty of things to do and places to explore in the Digby Neck and Islands area, including Long and Brier islands, Balancing Rock Hiking Trail on Long Island, whalewatching tours, and a lovely sand beach in Sandy Cove on the Bay of Fundy shore. Lake Midway Provincial Park is a beautiful place for a picnic and a freshwater swim. In Little River, you can buy fish from the fish processing plant during days they are in operation, go fishing for mackerel from two wharves where lobster boats dock, and hike on a rough private walking trail to Tommys Beach on the Fundy shore.
Come and see the beauty that awaits!
