Surfing lessons and surfing rentals are available inside of Martinique Beach Provincial Park 7 days a week. We have certified instructors on hand
9am-5pm to walk you through a beginner surf lesson at one of the best
learn to surf beaches in Nova Scotia. Wetsuits and surfboard rentals are
also available and only steps from the sand for your convenience. 

The
surfing at Martinique, like it’s famous neighbour Lawrencetown, is
fantastically consistent and offers great learning conditions almost
every day. There are a few options when surfing in Halifax but none
stack up to this beautiful, 3.7 km long white sand beach that lies just
45 minutes east of downtown. Picture yourself driving the coastal road
past old fishing huts, catching some waves, hanging at the beach and
then stopping for some fresh seafood on the way back. It doesn’t get any
better! This is a great activity for individuals or families who hope
to see and experience a lot during their visit to Nova Scotia – an easy
morning or afternoon trip to the beach still leaves you with the rest of
the day to explore.
