Mumford Bed & Breakfast is a traditional style bed and breakfast located in the heart of the Halifax Metro region of Nova Scotia. Combining the unique, casual atmosphere of a European Bed and Breakfast with a mixture of English ambiance and old-fashioned Maritime hospitality, we are an ideal base for exploring downtown Halifax and beyond.
We are next to the Halifax Shopping Centre and Annex, the largest shopping destination in Halifax. Take a walking tour of our friendly downtown streets with its mix of historic sites. The Halifax Citadel National Historic Site examines the role the fortress has played in the birth of the city through restored facilities and modern exhibits. Immerse yourself in the province’s rich maritime heritage at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, where artifacts from the Titanic can be viewed, and gain a deeper understanding of the immigrant experience at Pier 21, which hosts the Canadian Museum of Immigration. Follow this with a night out at a fine restaurant, theatre or pub with live music.
A 10-minute drive will take you to Sir Sandford Flemming Park and the Dingle, 95 acres of land surrounding the Dingle Tower, erected to commemorate 150 years of representative government in Nova Scotia. Wander amidst the fortifications of York Redoubt National Historic Site, built on the clifftop overlooking the harbour. The fishing village of Peggys Cove and its world-famous lighthouse are just an hour’s drive away. Visit towns along the South Shore, including UNESCO World Heritage Town of Lunenburg, home to Canada’s most famous tall ship, the Bluenose II, Mahone Bay for its picturesque beauty and famous Three Churches, and Chester for its range of antique shops.
Our accommodations include two rooms (Single bed, Queen-sized bed) with shared 4-piece bath. Robes, a hairdryer and high-speed Internet access are available in rooms. A continental breakfast is served. Linger over a cup of coffee and conversation at breakfast or sip tea in the afternoon as you relax in our beautiful English garden. Off-street parking is available for guests. Visa and MasterCard are accepted.
